Packing list for trekking trips
On a trek you are on the move for several days – often away from fixed accommodation and sometimes at high altitude. This list is a general guide. Depending on the trip, a tent, sleeping bag or sleeping mat may be provided. You will find exactly what is included in the trip description and your travel documents.
Luggage
- Trekking backpack or soft, water-resistant travel bag (depending on whether you carry your own luggage)
- Daypack (approx. 25–35 l) with rain cover
- Dry bags to keep clothes dry and organised
Tip: For active trips, take a soft travel bag or a backpack rather than a hard-shell suitcase. Soft luggage is much easier to stow during transfers between accommodations, in minibuses, on boats or when luggage is transported for you.
