Overview
With your own driver-guide you travel through Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. From Windhoek you head into the Namib to the red dunes of Sossusvlei, Deadvlei and Sesriem Canyon, then on to Swakopmund, Damaraland and Etosha National Park, before the trip ends via Botswana at Victoria Falls.
This impressive tour takes you through three of the most fascinating countries in southern Africa: Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe. You'll experience breathtaking landscapes, biodiverse national parks, authentic cultures, and impressive natural wonders – all with comfortable support and excellent organization. Your journey begins in Windhoek, Namibia's charming capital, before you head into the Namib Desert. There, the world-famous red dunes of Sossusvlei, the surreal landscape of Deadvlei, and the geological wonder of Sesriem Canyon await you. Along the coast, you'll visit Swakopmund and Walvis Bay, where optional activities such as boat trips, quad biking, and sandboarding offer a change of pace. Traveling along the rugged Skeleton Coast, with stops at shipwrecks, seal colonies, and the historic Twyfelfontein with its prehistoric rock engravings, you continue to the highlight of any Namibian trip: Etosha National Park. Here, spectacular wildlife viewing awaits you at numerous waterholes. You then leave Namibia and travel via Rundu to Bagani on the Okavango River, where you enter the lush, water-rich northeast of the country. The Mahango Wildlife Park offers a final glimpse of Namibia's wildlife before crossing the border into Botswana. Your flight adventure to the Okavango Delta begins in Maun, where you'll stay in an exclusive lodge in the heart of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Mokoro trips, boat excursions, and guided bush walks will allow you to discover the serene beauty of this unique watery wilderness around Chief's Island. After a domestic flight, you'll reach Kasane on the Chobe River. In Chobe National Park, you can expect to see large herds of elephants and enjoy impressive boat safaris where you can observe hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species up close. On this privately guided tour through Namibia, you'll travel with qualified field guides in a 4x4 vehicle with large windows. You'll hike on the dunes of Sossusvlei, observe animals at the waterholes in Etosha National Park, and go on safari in Mahangu National Park in the Caprivi Strip. A small plane will take you to the Okavango Delta for a mokoro excursion and bush walk, followed by game drives in the Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe National Park, before you experience the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Victoria Falls. The journey concludes with a visit to the spectacular Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe – one of the largest and most impressive waterfalls in the world. Whether exploring independently or with a guide, on foot or from the air, the thundering smoke of the Zambezi River provides a fitting finale to this extraordinary safari.

Day 2
Drive to Sossusvlei
Desert Homestead Lodge
Today your journey of discovery through Namibia begins with a scenic highlight: the drive into the Namib Desert – one of the oldest deserts on Earth, dating back approximately 55 million years. The route takes you through vast plains, dry riverbeds, and scattered villages where rural Namibian life becomes visible. Again and again, expansive horizons and impressive panoramas unfold, making the sheer scale and solitude of the country palpable. In the late afternoon, you'll reach the region around Sesriem, the gateway to the famous Sossusvlei in the Namib-Naukluft National Park. In good light, the desert reveals itself in its most impressive form: the enormous dunes – some up to 300 meters high – begin to glow in warm shades of red, creating an almost surreal atmosphere. An absolute highlight of your trip is a visit to Sossusvlei and Deadvlei. These iconic salt and clay pans are nestled among the highest dunes in the world. In Deadvlei, you'll find the bizarre, charred remains of centuries-old camel thorn trees – an almost surreal place that attracts photographers from all over the globe. The nearby Sesriem Canyon, carved into the rock over millions of years by the Tsauchab River, invites you to take a short hike and offers fascinating insights into the geological development of this region. The name "Namib" comes from the Nama language and means "wide open space"—a poetically apt description for this primeval landscape of sand, rocks, and light. This leg of your journey promises intense nature experiences, breathtaking tranquility, and the awe-inspiring beauty of untouched wilderness.

Days 4–5
Swakopmund
Swakopmund Luxury Suites
After breakfast, you continue your journey northwards. You'll pass through the small desert village of Solitaire – known for its rustic bakery and iconic, rusting car wrecks – and then cross the Tropic of Capricorn, a symbolic geographical point that's ideal for a souvenir photo. The route continues through the impressive Gaub and Kuiseb Canyons, whose dry river valleys have carved deep into the rock, and across the endless gravel plains of the Namib Desert to the Atlantic coast. This region is part of the famous Skeleton Coast, named for the numerous shipwrecks, barren sand landscapes, and whale remains that once washed ashore – a symbol of Namibia's rugged beauty. You have a full day to explore the area around Swakopmund and Walvis Bay. A wide range of activities awaits you (optional, bookable), for example: – Dolphin and seal watching tours in the Walvis Bay lagoon – A guided excursion to Sandwich Harbour, where dunes drop spectacularly into the sea – a true Skeleton Coast moment Quad biking or sandboarding on the dunes for adventure seekers – Sea kayaking tours to experience marine fauna up close – Or simply a relaxing day strolling through Swakopmund, galleries, museums and shopping opportunities. For lunch and dinner, there are numerous charming cafés and restaurants to choose from – often with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. Meals are not included in the tour price and can be tailored to your individual preferences.

Day 6
Damaraland
Twyfelfontein Adventure Camp
Today you continue your Namibian journey north along the legendary Skeleton Coast. The route takes you through rugged, almost uninhabited landscapes to the small coastal town of Henties Bay. Along the way, you'll stop at the lichen fields – a delicate ecosystem of ancient, slow-growing plants that survives only in this extreme coastal region. Another worthwhile stop is at one of the famous shipwrecks between the colorful artists' village of Wlotzkasbaken and Henties Bay – silent witnesses to the dangers this coast once posed to seafaring. North of Henties Bay, you'll reach the Cape Cross Nature Reserve, home to one of Africa's largest seal colonies. Thousands of Cape fur seals frolic on the coast here – an impressive, if somewhat pungent, spectacle. Cape Cross also marks a historically significant site: in 1486, the Portuguese navigator Diego Cão erected a stone cross here as a symbol of European discovery. Then you return to Henties Bay and leave the coast heading east. Through wide gravel plains and open savannah, you reach the village of Uis, situated at the foot of the imposing Brandberg. From there, you continue north into the culturally and historically rich region around Twyfelfontein. Here you'll find a truly special chapter of Namibian history: Twyfelfontein, Namibia's first UNESCO World Heritage Site, is home to one of Africa's most important rock engraving sites, with over 2,500 animal depictions and symbols carved into the stone – some up to 6,000 years old. Also worth seeing are the nearby Organ Pipes, bizarre, column-like basalt formations, and the mystically shimmering Burnt Mountain, whose dark rock is particularly fascinating in the evening sun. For an insight into the traditional life of the Damara, a visit to the Damara Living Museum is worthwhile – an interactive open-air exhibition that authentically conveys the language, crafts, medicinal plants and everyday rituals of this ethnic group.

Day 7
Etosha National Park
Etosha Village
After breakfast, you continue your journey eastward. On the way to Khorixas, a worthwhile stop is recommended at the Petrified Forest – a geological natural monument where ancient, petrified tree trunks are up to 260 million years old. These trunks, some several meters long, offer impressive insights into the geological history of southern Africa. From Khorixas you continue on the well-developed asphalt road towards Outjo, before turning north to the lodge, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the southern entrance to Etosha National Park, the Andersson Gate. If your arrival time allows, an initial game drive in Etosha National Park is scheduled for the afternoon – a perfect introduction to the wildlife of the north. Depending on how many stops you make along the way, you should reach your accommodation in time for lunch (optional extra). Upon entering the park, you'll first reach the well-known Okaukuejo Camp, where you pay your entrance fee (already included in the tour price). A quick visit to the small shop here is also worthwhile to stock up on drinks, snacks, and an Etosha map. The map contains important information about the numerous waterholes where wildlife regularly congregates – essential for a successful safari, whether you're exploring independently or with a guide. Etosha is one of Africa's most important nature reserves. Covering an area of approximately 22,000 km², the park is home to around 114 mammal species, including elephants, lions, rhinos, giraffes, and numerous antelope species. With around 340 bird species, including flamingos, eagles, and ostriches, ornithologists will also find plenty to enjoy. The chances are excellent that you'll observe an impressive variety of animals on your safari – both at the waterholes and along the open savannah landscapes.

Days 8–9
Etosha National Park
Mushara Bush Camp
Today is dedicated to wildlife viewing in Etosha National Park – one of the most impressive safari experiences in Namibia. The route takes you from west to east across the park. This full-day game drive offers you the opportunity to leisurely visit numerous waterholes scattered along the route. Especially during the dry season, large groups of animals regularly gather here – elephants, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and with a bit of luck, even lions or rhinos. You drive slowly and attentively through the open savannah, observing animals in their natural habitat and enjoying the fascinating changes in scenery around the vast Etosha Pan – a gigantic salt pan that appears almost surreal under certain lighting conditions. Plan a picnic break at one of the designated rest areas along the way. Alternatively, you can head to one of the park rest camps like Halali or Namutoni for lunch (not included), where simple meals and refreshments are offered. The entire day is yours to enjoy wildlife viewing – whether as a continuous day drive or split into a morning and an afternoon game drive with a relaxing break at your accommodation in between. Depending on the time of year and the weather, the best times for wildlife viewing vary – early morning and late afternoon are often particularly rich in wildlife. Note: Lunch is optional and not included in the tour price.

Day 10
Caprivi Region
Shametu River Lodge
After breakfast, you'll leave Etosha National Park and continue your journey eastward. The route first takes you to Grootfontein before you turn north towards Rundu, the largest town in the Kavango region. Along the way, the landscape changes noticeably – the dry savanna gradually gives way to greener vegetation as you approach the fertile Okavango River basin. From Rundu, the route continues eastward along the Okavango River to Bagani, near the famous Popa Falls. Despite their name, the Popa Falls are more like rapids than classic waterfalls, but their location on the wide, palm-lined riverbank offers a beautiful natural spectacle – especially at sunset. Day 10
Shametu River Lodge
The afternoon is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Use the time to relax in your lodge, which is usually located right on the river and offers stunning views.
