About the Arctic Route
The Winter Arctic Route is the ideal way to discover Northern Norway and Finnish Lapland in a relaxed, sustainable and individual way – without a rental car or domestic flights. Between early December and the end of March, modern coaches connect numerous towns, regions and hotels. Thanks to the practical hop-on/hop-off principle, you can plan your personal route flexibly – perfect for anyone who wants to combine several highlights of northern Scandinavia. The routes: Tromsø, the "gateway to the Arctic", is one of the central hubs of the Winter Arctic Route. From here there are daily bus connections in various directions:
- Towards Narvik, a town that is also popular for skiing, among other things. - New this season: to the island of Senja with its dramatic landscapes. - To Storslett and on to Skjervøy, known for spectacular whale watching. - Into the Lyngen Alps, which fascinate with a breathtaking mountain landscape. - Across the border to Finnish Lapland, with stops at popular winter destinations such as Kilpisjärvi, Muonio, Levi, Kittilä and all the way down to Rovaniemi, the official home of Santa Claus.
