After a first day in Whitehorse, you'll travel along the Alaska Highway to Destruction Bay and hop on a snowmobile – your destination is the remote Ruby Range Lodge in the heart of the Yukon wilderness. Here you'll immerse yourself in the life of trappers: You'll learn how to set traps and tan hides, hike through untouched landscapes on snowshoes, and try your luck ice fishing for Arctic char or grayling. At night, the stars twinkle – and with a bit of luck, the Northern Lights – over the tranquil land. To conclude your trip, warm up in the Takhini Hot Springs before enjoying a delicious dinner in Whitehorse and reminiscing about the past few days. Snowshoeing, ice fishing, and the trapper workshop are all possible without prior experience. Even in March, Kluane Lake can get very cold, with temperatures around -20°C and below, as well as wind on the lake. The Ruby Range Lodge is secluded, far from any civilization – simple comfort and flexibility in case of changing weather conditions are part of the experience. With a maximum of 7 participants, you'll be traveling in a very small group. Shared meals at the lodge, mutual support in the snow, and a shared passion for nature will quickly create a strong bond.
