Overview

In seven days you hike from Innsbruck along the Zirbenweg and the Nordkette to the Seefeld plateau, through the Leutasch Ghost Gorge and across the border to Mittenwald. Moderate stages in a small group, while your luggage travels ahead by shuttle.

Seven days between Innsbruck, Seefeld and Mittenwald. In a small group of no more than 12 people, your experienced mountain guide will show you his very own "gems" of the border region: panoramic summit moments, suspended steel walkways over roaring gorges, emerald-green lakes that invite you to cool off, and, as a bonus, a border crossing on foot. Meanwhile, your luggage travels ahead by shuttle and will be waiting for you when you arrive – a true all-inclusive package where you don't have to worry about anything except spending time together.

  • Day 2
Zirbenweg - One of the most beautiful panoramic hikes around Innsbruck

Today is a warm-up. A bus will take you to Tulfes, where the Glungezer lift will whisk you up to 2,000 meters, the starting point of today's scenic hike. You'll hike along the famous Zirbenweg (Swiss Stone Pine Trail), through one of Europe's largest Swiss stone pine forests, to the Boschebenhütte mountain hut without breaking a sweat. There, a traditional Tyrolean snack and homemade cakes await you for a relaxing break. Along the way, you'll enjoy breathtaking views down into the Inn Valley and of the jagged Karwendel mountain range. From there, the trail continues to the Patschalm alpine pasture, before you can either hike back down or take the gondola down to the valley.

  • Day 3
Nordkette: the big wow factor directly above the city

From the old town, you'll be transported to the heart of the mountains in just a few minutes: The futuristic Hungerburg funicular, designed by star architect Zaha Hadid, takes you from the city center up to the Hungerburg, from where the Nordkette cable car carries you up to the Seegrube at 1,905 meters – a thrilling contrast between city life and the rugged mountain landscape. Together with your hiking guide, you'll discuss whether you feel ready for the more technically challenging Julius-Pock-Steig trail, or whether you'd prefer to conserve your energy and take the leisurely route via Rauschbrunnen to Hungerburg. And because several cozy mountain huts along the way invite you to stop for refreshments, the hike also becomes a delightful culinary experience.

  • Day 4
Brunschkopf loop - panoramic views over the Seefeld plateau

The day begins in a completely relaxed manner: You take the train to Seefeld, and while you enjoy the view from the window, your luggage is already on its way to your next hotel in Leutasch via shuttle. This way you can start your day carefree. From Seefeld, the trail leads you into the Wildmoos area, a nature reserve with tranquil moorland, light forests, and constantly surprising views. The destination is the Brunschkopf viewing platform, which rewards you with a panorama that will take your breath away: the Wetterstein and Karwendel mountains, and the entire Seefeld plateau lie at your feet – the perfect moment for a family photo. The loop is considered moderately difficult – just right for a day trip, without pushing yourself to your limits, but with enough variety to keep even teenagers entertained. Once you arrive at your next accommodation in Leutasch, you can relax by the hotel's own pool.

The Leutasch Ghost Gorge - your adventure day

Today your group will experience one of the most impressive sections of the entire week: From Leutasch, the trail leads you directly into the Leutasch Ghost Gorge – on modern steel walkways you'll glide high above the roaring, turquoise-shimmering Ache river, while rock faces tower up on either side. Through the gorge you continue your hike to the historic Mittenwald with its colorful Lüftlmalerei (fresco paintings), where your luggage is already waiting in your new accommodation and all that's left to do is: arrive and put your feet up!
