The longing for the great wide world was probably given to me in the cradle – my grandparents traveled through the former Soviet Union as early as the 1950s. And the books by Karl May did their part: In my thoughts, I rode through the prairie, marveled at geysers, and dreamed of foreign cultures.
Initially, however, it remained with travels through Europe – by car and with a tent. Whether Croatia, Slovenia, England, or France – everything was explored. A very special chapter was my semester abroad in Barcelona. The studies took a back seat – more important was discovering the diverse landscapes between the beaches of the Mediterranean and the peaks of the Pyrenees.
After completing my tourism studies, I gained my first work experience with tour operators such as Suntrek Tours and FTI. Then it was finally time: The first trip to the USA, shortly followed by a tour through Eastern Canada. As expected, it was love at first sight – with the endless expanses, the wild national parks, and the untamed beauty of the Rocky Mountains.
This was followed by numerous trips through North America – especially the West had captured our hearts. The border officials in Kingsgate (BC) now know us by our first names 😊.
In 2005, we fulfilled a long-cherished dream: Six months of pure Canada. We worked as ranchers and farmers, herded cattle, encountered bears – and tackled every steep mountain trail. Some of my favorite tours? Lake O'Hara in Yoho National Park, Surprise Lake in the Tetons, and a very special place near Cranbrook, whose location remains a well-kept secret.
After this intensive time, we were drawn to Tyrol – we didn't want to miss the mountains anymore. And what could be better than having your favorite hobbies right on your doorstep? Mountain biking, snowboarding, climbing, mountaineering…
But the wanderlust remained. This was followed by trips to New Zealand, Vietnam, and through many other European countries. Professionally, my path finally led me to the cruise industry – an area I initially viewed rather skeptically. But today I know: A cruise is a wonderful way to discover exciting places in a short time that you might never have traveled to otherwise.
After a trekking tour through Peru, it was finally time – we founded Silvertip Tours. The wish was clear: To pass on our experience and our passion for travel to others. And that's exactly what we do – with all our hearts.
Because at some point, the right time has come to make dreams come true. And we look forward to standing by your side in doing so.
