After a short flight of about an hour and a half, you'll land in Nukus, which is surrounded by a barren desert landscape. The temperatures are also a bit cooler than they were the day before in Tashkent. Here, a cultural treasure awaits you: the Savitsky Museum houses the world's only collection of classic Russian avant-garde art. Around midday, depending on the wishes of the members of your small group, you can either have a meal in a nice restaurant or just grab some snacks from the supermarket. The journey then continues towards Khiva. After a few hours' drive through the steppe and desert landscape of Kyzylkum, you'll arrive at your next stop. The ancient fortress of Ayaz Kala boasts wonderfully preserved and impressive mud-brick architecture, offering a journey back to the heyday of the Silk Road.
