  • Day 2
Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park – Karatu

    Country Lodge

After breakfast your safari through northern Tanzania begins. Around 7:30 am you set off towards Lake Manyara National Park. The scenically varied reserve extends around the soda lake of the same name, which, depending on the season, is home to numerous flamingos and many other waterbirds. On your first game drive, with a bit of luck, elephants, hippos, buffalo, monkeys, banded mongooses and various antelope species await you. The national park is also known for its tree-climbing lions – an unusual behaviour that can only rarely be observed, making every sighting a special experience. As with all safaris, however: wildlife viewing is a nature experience and never predictable. After exploring the national park extensively, you continue your journey and reach your lodge in the afternoon, where you can end the day in a relaxed way.
