  • Day 5
Trekking or horseback riding excursion at Cerro Castillo

Hike approx. 13 km / approx. 7 h (moderate) or horseback riding excursion

Today you have a choice between two excursions that have already been planned for you – you just need to decide which one you'd like to do. You'll discuss this with your tour guide right at the beginning of the trip. Both options promise an impressive nature experience. If you opt for the guided day hike to Laguna Cerro Castillo (moderate, approx. 7 hours, approx. 13 km), a true highlight of the region awaits you: The trail leads you along sometimes steep paths through dense forests and alpine landscapes up to the impressively situated lagoon. The water shimmers in shades of emerald green to turquoise blue against the dramatic backdrop of the rugged mountain slopes. You'll have a small packed lunch to enjoy at a scenic spot along the way. For those more interested in Patagonia's culture and vast landscapes, a half-day horseback riding excursion offers the perfect opportunity to explore the region. At a leisurely pace, you'll ride across open fields, through light forests, and past secluded estancias. You'll be accompanied by local guides who will provide fascinating insights into the lives of Patagonian gauchos. Back at your accommodation, you can share your experiences over dinner. (B/L/D)

Afterwards, you continue your hike and return to your accommodation in the late afternoon. Weather permitting, you can spend some time on the nearby beach – and those feeling brave can take a refreshing dip in the rather cold water. A well-deserved dinner awaits you afterwards. (B/L/D)

In the afternoon, you'll explore the Palermo district with your tour guide – known for its green parks, trendy boutiques, hip cafés, and creative atmosphere. Between tree-lined avenues, colorful murals, and modern architecture, the city reveals its young, vibrant side. You'll travel by public transport, giving you a glimpse into the daily life of Argentinians. In the evening, you have the opportunity to immerse yourself in one of Argentina's great passions: tango (optional, bookable on site, approx. USD 100 per person including dinner). You will attend a classic tango show with a three-course meal. Passionate, intense, and artful, the dance tells stories of love, melancholy, and longing. (F)
