Welcome to Zimbabwe – Victoria Falls
The Victoria Falls Hotel
Welcome to your breathtaking safari, which will take you to the most beautiful parks in Botswana and Zimbabwe! You will be met at Victoria Falls Airport and transferred to your hotel, a journey of approximately 20–30 minutes. In Victoria Falls, an awe-inspiring natural spectacle unfolds before you as the Zambezi, one of Africa's largest rivers, plunges over a broad front, forming the widest continuous waterfall in the world. As the water plunges into the narrow Batoka Gorge, it creates an impressive mist, giving the waterfall its indigenous name, "Mosi-oa-tunya" – the smoke that thunders. During periods of high water, a permanently visible rain cloud forms above the falls, providing a refreshing shower on sunny days and visible for miles around. Along the river you can take part in boat trips and enjoy the sunset over the tranquil Zambezi as the fading light breaks into the distant spray of the waterfall. Victoria Falls is not only a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the natural wonders of the world, but also forms a natural border between Zimbabwe and Zambia. You have the option of exploring Victoria Falls on your own (entrance fee payable on site). We are happy to advise you on the various activities you can undertake. Airport transfer time: approx. 20–30 minutes.

Days 5–6
Chobe National Park – Okavango Delta
Camp Okavango
You will be comfortably transferred to Kasane airport, from where you will fly today in a small plane to the Okavango region of your Botswana safari. You will spend two nights there. The Okavango Delta is the heart of Botswana's wilderness. A vast oasis in the middle of the Kalahari Desert, it is home to a multitude of elephants, birds, and other wildlife that bring the area to life. However, the true magic of the delta lies in the masses of water that flow in from the distant highlands of Angola and pour into the delta's channels and floodplains. During the winter (our summer), when the sun leaves the Kalahari dry and thirsty, the flood from Angola reaches the Okavango Delta, transforming the floodplains into an ark of African wildlife. Every year, when the floodwaters bring the delta to life, it undergoes a transformation. Termites build their large mounds on the densely vegetated islands, while hippos create new waterways as they swim through the reeds with their massive bodies. These waterways can be explored in traditional dugout canoes called mokoros. During your stay, you will undertake two stalking activities daily to experience the fascinating wildlife up close. The tour price includes bird watching, mokoro trips, boat trips (depending on the season and water level), fishing trips (depending on the season) and walking safaris.

Your accommodation: Leroo La Tau
2 nights · Double room · Full board The majestic Leroo La Tau Lodge is situated on the banks of the Boteti River, which runs along the western border of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. The accommodations consist of twelve very spacious chalets, each furnished with a double bed and an additional single bed. Every chalet has a private bathroom overlooking the Boteti River. The lodge can accommodate a total of 24 guests. Situated along the riverbank, the chalets feature sliding glass doors that open onto a private veranda offering spectacular views. The main lodge area, constructed from natural materials, houses a lounge, a bar, a dining area, a reception, and a gift shop. The Boteti River is an outflow of the Okavango Delta and disappears into the deep sands of the Kalahari. From 1995 to 2009, the river was largely dry, but since then it has carried water again, thanks to the high water levels in the Okavango Delta. The national park is home to more than 30,000 zebras and wildebeest and offers visitors the opportunity to observe interactions between these impressive herds and their hunters. After exhilarating game drives by day and night, where guests can explore the beauty of nature, they can relax by a fantastic fire pit overlooking the river. The lodge has a secluded observation point from which guests can witness Botswana's spectacular wildlife. The once-dry riverbed is an important part of the zebra and wildebeest migration (from June to November), and guests staying several nights at the lodge can also take day trips to Nxai Pan National Park or the salt pans when the migration is not taking place. Day 10
Boteti River
The weather is fine.
Today's game drives offer breathtaking views of the Boteti River. The Boteti, the last outflow of the Okavango Delta, stretches all the way to the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. In some years, not a single drop of water flows through the river, reducing it to a long, sandy riverbed with fewer and fewer waterholes, where zebras compete for space. At other times, however, the Boteti's water level rises rapidly, flowing hundreds of kilometers from its source into the salt pans, until the water eventually evaporates. Here you can watch majestic antelopes as they make their way through thorny acacia trees, gather under tall palm trees, and rest in the shade of tall trees close to the water. When the Boteti River is high, you can often see large bull elephants playing in the water as the sun slowly sets.
