Day 2
Whitehorse – Haines Junction
Hotel
Today's short drive takes you west again along the Alaska Highway. Several sights along this stretch invite you to make brief stops before you reach Haines Junction – located at the foot of Kluane National Park – in the early afternoon. Kluane National Park is not only the largest national park in Canada, but it also boasts a diverse array of wildlife and the largest contiguous glacier area on Earth outside of the two poles. To this day, this vast national park remains largely untouched and pristine. Depending on the weather and the group's interests, a guided hike into the national park can be undertaken. Another possible attraction is a flight in a legendary bush plane over the park's impressive glacier landscape, deep into a virtually uninhabited area (optional).
