Overview
In a small group you experience the Rockies in winter: snowshoe and winter hikes of two to three hours, frozen waterfalls, ice skating and the Icefields Parkway under deep blue skies. For healthy travellers with normal fitness and warm clothing.
A winter in the Rocky Mountains feels like stepping into another world: The sky shines a deep blue above snow-covered peaks, the forests lie still beneath sparkling blankets of snow, and frozen rivers and waterfalls transform into breathtaking works of art. It is against this backdrop that your adventure begins. Together with a small group, you'll discover the snow-covered mountains on varied hikes – sometimes with snowshoes, sometimes on cleared trails. You'll have the opportunity to ice skate on mirror-smooth ice, go sledding, and enjoy other winter activities that make Canada's winters so special. Canadians themselves celebrate this season with enthusiasm: they make the most of every hour of daylight to be active outdoors, whether playing sports, attending festivals, or simply enjoying the crisp, clean air. After action-packed days, the cozy side of winter awaits you. In the charming mountain villages of Banff, Lake Louise, and Jasper, you can stroll through wintry streets, stop at rustic restaurants, or simply soak up the atmosphere. And in the vibrant winter metropolis of Edmonton, you'll experience just how diverse and exciting the cold season in Canada can be. This will make your winter vacation in the Rockies a journey full of nature experiences, activities and unforgettable impressions – sometimes active, sometimes relaxed, always authentically Canadian.
