Overview

More than 100 km of open ocean separate Haida Gwaii from the mainland. From K’il Kun (Sandspit) you paddle with a guide through the islands of Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve, camp simply on beaches and experience rainforest, marine life and the Haida Heritage Site.

Haida Gwaii is an ecological gem, a place you'll rarely find elsewhere. Over 100 kilometers of open ocean separate the islands from the mainland – and it's precisely this remoteness that gives them their special charm. Here you'll find the Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve, the National Marine Conservation Area Reserve, and the Haida Heritage Site. It's no wonder National Geographic calls Haida Gwaii "North America's premier wilderness park destination." On your journey, you'll discover this wild island world as intensely as possible: Every day you'll paddle your kayak through a labyrinth of bays, fjords, and offshore islands. You'll pitch your tent in the heart of the lush rainforest or on secluded beaches, enjoy meals around a campfire, and listen to the sounds of the ocean. One of the highlights is a visit to a natural hot spring – a magical place where, after a day full of adventure, you can feel the warmth and tranquility of nature. But Haida Gwaii is not just nature, it's also culture. You'll immerse yourself in the fascinating world of the Haida people, whose history and traditions are inextricably linked to this island group. Traces of their rich culture are everywhere, from totem poles and legends to stories vividly recounted by your guide. In five unforgettable days, you'll experience an adventure that deeply connects you with the island's nature and culture. With every paddle stroke, you'll discover new panoramas, and with each day, your sense of belonging to this unique wilderness will grow. Haida Gwaii offers experiences that go far beyond an ordinary vacation – a true adventure for body and soul.

Program adjustments depending on weather conditions

The safety of our participants is our top priority on our active tours. Since we often travel in alpine or remote regions, weather conditions such as strong winds, fog, persistent rain or snowfall, as well as other unforeseen circumstances, can affect the execution of the planned route. In such cases, our experienced local guide will react flexibly and adjust the route or program accordingly to ensure the safety of everyone involved. These decisions are always made in the best interests of all participants, so that the tour remains safe and as enjoyable as possible. Any claims for compensation are excluded in such cases.
