Overview
Over two weeks you hike through the Rocky Mountain national parks, to the Columbia Icefield and Lake Louise, across the plateaus of British Columbia and the Okanagan with the Kettle Valley Trail all the way to Vancouver. Moderate guided hikes, with nights in hotels.
This two-week journey takes you through some of Western Canada's most breathtaking landscapes. In the Rocky Mountain National Parks, you'll discover deep blue mountain lakes, rugged peaks, rushing waterfalls, and vast valleys home to moose and bears. On well-chosen day hikes, you'll explore quiet trails through ancient coniferous forests, reach viewpoints high above the tree line, and enjoy panoramas that change with every step. Further west, the vast highlands of British Columbia unfold, a land of contrasts: tranquil lakes, endless forests, and open pastures where the expanse of the landscape seems almost limitless. Finally, the route takes you down through the imposing Coast Mountains – a world of glaciers, rugged passes, and deeply carved river valleys – to Vancouver. This coastal metropolis welcomes you with its unique blend of urban life, oceanfront, and mountain scenery. This journey showcases the diversity of Canada: from alpine wilderness and tranquil inland landscapes to the vibrant West Coast. Each leg of the journey offers new natural wonders and reveals the beauty of this vast, multifaceted country in all its nuances.
