Overview
In a group but at your own pace, you walk the “Caminho Português” from Vigo via Redondela, Pontevedra, Caldas de Reis and Padrón to Santiago de Compostela. Stages of around 20 km without major climbs, through forests, fields and small towns.
There are many reasons to walk the Camino de Santiago in a group, hiking stage by stage together – one of them being to meet like-minded people, be active together, and experience a special kind of togetherness. Completely stress-free, you'll hike the "Caminho Português," the Portuguese Way of St. James, from the Spanish coastal city of Vigo to Santiago de Compostela. Along the way, you'll experience the fascinating diversity of the stages and landscapes: wooden boardwalks along the Atlantic coast, green hills and forests, as well as charming little towns and villages. A German-speaking guide will accompany you on all stages, sharing fascinating insights into the culture and history of the region and the Camino de Santiago. The hikes average 20 kilometers, but you have the whole day to explore at your own pace. If you prefer a more relaxed pace, you can walk ahead or behind – you'll meet up at the next junction. After arriving in Santiago, you'll have a full day to explore the city. Besides the cathedral, you'll be impressed by the Renaissance and Baroque buildings, magnificent squares, and arcades. A guided tour will reveal much about one of Spain's most beautiful cities, and in the afternoon you'll have time to wander through the streets on your own.

Day 1
Arrival in Vigo
Hotel Silken Axis Vigo or similar, dinner
You can fly to Vigo or Porto. From Vigo airport, a transfer (included) will take you to your first accommodation in the city. Flights to Porto are often cheaper, and Porto, with its historic center (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), is a wonderful city – from there, buses and trains run to Vigo. We are happy to help you organize your journey. It's worth arriving in Vigo a day early: Stroll through the old town and the fishing quarter, or visit the Museum of Modern Art. The Cíes Islands Natural Park is just a short ferry ride away and offers opportunities for hiking and swimming, and there are also wonderful beaches right near the city. In the evening, the group meets at the hotel for dinner. Your tour guide will introduce themselves and give you an overview of the coming days.
