This hiking route in Norway takes you through some of the most beautiful coastal landscapes in northern Scandinavia. Along the northern Norwegian coast, you'll explore the stunning regions of Tromsø, Senja, and Vesterålen via a variety of trails. Enjoy unspoiled nature amidst towering peaks and cascading waterfalls. The coastal paths lead you through dense forests and rugged mountains, always offering spectacular views! Tromsø, the gateway to the Arctic, lies 350 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle and is the largest city in Northern Norway. Here, nature and culture blend seamlessly, like the wind and the sea. Tromsø is the ideal starting point for a walking tour along the stunning northern coast. • Day 6
Andøya Island / Coastal walk from Stave to Bleik

    Hotel

Hiking time approx. 4 hours, hiking distance approx. 10 km, ascent 400 m

Andenes is considered one of the best places in Europe for whale watching. Those who wish can take a boat trip on the Atlantic Ocean to observe these giants of the sea (optional and at an additional cost). This northernmost point of the Vesterålen archipelago is known for its storms and fog, but when the weather is clear, sperm whales are sighted almost daily and, with a bit of luck, other marine mammals as well. (Note: If the excursion is canceled due to weather conditions, the advance payment will be refunded.) Those not participating in the whale watching excursion can join the guide on a hike. The route from Stave to Bleik crosses an exposed plateau after a steep climb. The views extend across the tundra, the open sea, and the rugged coastline. If you wish, you can make a short detour to the summit of Måtind (408 m). From there, you'll enjoy a fantastic view of the rocky coast, the stunning beaches of Bleik, and the bird island of Bleiksøya. The descent takes you through forests and heathland, passing by a lake where the more adventurous can even take a dip. If the weather doesn't permit a high-altitude hike, we'll take a coastal cruise. Along this unforgettable coastline, we'll sail from bay to bay, enjoying the spectacle of the waves and foam, as well as the interplay of clouds and wind. Upon arrival in Bleik, a café with hot drinks and fragrant pastries awaits.

    Whalers Island Skrova

    Hotel

Hiking time approx. 4 hours, hiking distance approx. 10 km, ascent 300 m

The Lofoten Islands are a true paradise for hikers, famous for their challenging summit routes. Today, we'll take it easy and admire the majestic mountains from a distance. We'll take the ferry to the former whaling island of Skrova. There, Høgskrova (258 m) awaits us—a peak that isn't particularly high, but certainly presents a challenge. In some sections, we'll need to use our hands and maintain good balance to navigate the rocky path to the top. Once there, we'll be rewarded with a magnificent 360° panoramic view of the entire Vestfjord, including the Lofoten mountain range and the mainland. If you don't mind steep slopes or large rocks, Skrova's coast offers plenty of alternatives. Discover stunning beaches with almost unreal colors or stroll through the small town with its brightly painted wooden houses, tiny lighthouses perched on flat rocks, and traditional stalls selling dried fish. For culture enthusiasts, the island also offers free exhibitions, and a cozy café in the harbor invites you to enjoy freshly made waffles and a well-deserved rest. Back in Svolvær, you'll still have plenty of time to explore on your own.
