Overview

This guided hiking trip is a feast for all the senses. On easy forest and vineyard paths you hike through the Langhe and Roero, to the "balcony of the Langhe" and to Barolo. You also discover the wines of Barbaresco and Canelli and the truffles of Alba – with one hotel near Barbaresco all week.

A hiking trip in Piedmont is a journey for all the senses. Here, we experience a culinary paradise amidst a magical landscape. The region's pride includes exquisite wines, such as the highly prized DOCG wines Barolo and Barbaresco, and the "Italian Champagne" from Canelli. The rare truffles of Alba, often called "Piedmont's white gold," also grow in the forests here. Hiking in Piedmont is a pure delight, amidst stunning nature and picturesque villages. The hikes are technically easy. We walk on forest and vineyard paths. The actual walking time of the tours is between 3 and 4.5 hours, with approximately 200 to 400 meters of elevation gain and loss. The Piedmont region is renowned for its wine production far beyond the borders of Italy. Canelli is considered the "birthplace" of Moscato d'Asti, a town whose tradition has been intertwined with its wines for hundreds of years and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our hike on the Barolo Trail begins in La Morra, offering breathtaking views from the "balcony of the Langhe." On a clear day, we can even see the Ligurian Alps across the rolling landscape. We explore the wine village of Barolo and visit a winemaker to learn how the Nebbiolo grape is transformed into one of Italy's most famous wines. Through the Roero region, we hike past peach orchards and, in the shade of Alba's many hazelnut trees, search for the region's famous white truffles.
