  • Day 2
    On the Herb Trail

    Hotel Villa Argentina, Moneglia

    Approx. 3 hours walking time, elevation gain/loss +/- 400 m

First, we take the train to Bonassola. From there, we hike to Framura. Besides the magnificent views, the trail offers another special feature: wild herbs and vegetables grow here, used in the local cuisine: wild asparagus, thyme, savory, mint, myrtle, and much more. Upon arriving in Framura, we meet the young winemaker Emilio, who first shows us his beautiful vineyards and gardens – naturally with a sea view. Afterwards, we enjoy a tasting of his wines, accompanied by various seasonal delicacies, some of which come from his own garden.

  • Day 3
    Wine and Sea

    Hotel Villa Argentina, Moneglia

    Approx. 3 hours walking time, elevation gain/loss +/- 400 m

In the morning, we take the train to Corniglia, the smallest of the Cinque Terre villages. Perched slightly above the sea, it has best preserved its original character. A narrow lane winds through the village, leading to Punta Santa Maria, where we enjoy a fantastic view of the sea. From there, we continue into the vineyards. Wine has made the Cinque Terre what it is – a breathtaking cultural landscape high above the sea. The view of the colorful houses of the five villages is stunning. Next, we descend to Manarola, where a sommelier will give us a brief introduction to the region's wines. Afterward, there will be time for a stroll through this picturesque village.

    Monterosso and Vernazza

    Hotel Villa Argentina, Moneglia

    Approximately 4 hours walking time, +/- 550 m

In the morning, we'll travel to Monterosso by train, of course, and take some time to explore the town before setting off on our hike. The trail leads through fragrant Mediterranean scrubland, orange groves, and olive groves, offering magnificent views of the coast. Along the way, we'll pass two pilgrimage churches, whose shady courtyards are perfect for a picnic. In the afternoon, a wine tasting awaits us at a winery in Vernazza, perhaps the most picturesque village of the Cinque Terre.

  • Day 6
    Panoramic trail and boat trip

    Hotel Villa Argentina, Moneglia

    Approx. 4-4.5 hours walking time, elevation gain/loss +/- 500 m

Today promises to be a day full of highlights. We'll enjoy a breathtaking panoramic hike, a spectacular boat trip, and a tasting of exceptional wines in a special setting. In the morning, we'll take the train to Riomaggiore. From there, we'll hike along an ancient path that leads us past the ruins of the village from which the present-day town once grew. Our path winds through olive groves and shady oak woods until we reach an idyllic hamlet. Here, in a stunning location with breathtaking sea views, a family has realized their dream: they have restored abandoned vineyards and now cultivate them as an organic farm. Alongside the grapevines, numerous herbs and heritage fruit varieties thrive here. There are chickens, bees, and donkeys. In this enchanting place, we taste exquisite wines that tell the story of their unique terroir. Afterward, we descend back down to Riomaggiore, passing an old pilgrimage church. The day culminates in a boat trip along the picturesque Cinque Terre coast, offering us a completely different perspective of today's hike.
