Overview
With an expert guide and minibus you experience Iceland in winter: the south coast and an ice cave at Katla volcano, the Eldhraun lava field, Vatnajökull with a deep-blue ice cave, the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, Gullfoss and Geysir – and, with luck, dancing northern lights.
Iceland's nature reveals its adventurous side in winter. Exploring it to its fullest is best done with an experienced guide/driver who knows the country and its features intimately. Traveling by minibus, you'll discover not only classic sights like geysers, waterfalls, and black sand beaches, but also glacial moraines in a truly unique way. Highlights include the dancing Northern Lights and the Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon in Vatnajökull National Park, a ride in a super jeep, and a visit to deep blue ice caves. The bizarre ice formations are constantly changing their appearance. Fire and ice will completely captivate you on this exclusive adventure.

Reykjavik – South Coast – Ice Cave at the Katla Volcano
Along the south coast, there are numerous waterfalls to stop at, including the thundering Urridafoss. At the black sand beach near Vik, the North Atlantic impresses with its white surf. Culture / nature
Pure nature
You don't need to be in top physical condition for this winter trip. The route includes short walks to waterfalls, beaches, and viewpoints, often on snowy or icy terrain. Non-slip, warm winter boots (preferably with spikes), warm layered clothing, and wind and rain protection are essential. The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed; their visibility depends on solar activity and weather. Due to short days and changing road conditions, the sequence of events can change at short notice.

Notes on the trip
Notes
ATTENTION: Due to the changeable winter weather and road conditions, the itinerary and program may change at short notice. Please also refer to our general information for group tours in Iceland. The ice caves are generally easily accessible. Shoe spikes are provided for secure footing on the ice. All participants should be in good general physical condition. Please pack carefully: Due to the limited size of the luggage space in the vehicle, you should not take overly large pieces of luggage and only as much as necessary on your trip. A 3-bed room is a double room with an extra bed; it may be very cramped. Half double rooms available on request!
