Days 2–3
Kalahari
Kalahari Anib Lodge, Halbpension
approx. 3.5 hours
In the morning, you will be transferred from The Weinberg to the departure point for your shuttle transfer. Together with other travelers, you will travel in an air-conditioned vehicle to Kalahari Anib Lodge at approximately 7:00 AM. The Kalahari stretches across large parts of Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa. Its name means "the great thirst"—fitting for the largest continuous sand plain in the world. But this semi-desert impresses not only with its red dunes, acacia trees, and shimmering golden grasses, but also with its fascinating wildlife. Here you can observe gemsbok, impala, jackals, cheetahs, and, of course, the famous meerkats. Furthermore, the Kalahari is home to the indigenous San people, who have lived in this region for centuries as hunter-gatherers. A special highlight awaits you on the third day: a roughly 3-hour sundowner drive (included in the price). In an open-top 4x4, you'll traverse the dune landscape and enjoy breathtaking views at sunset. Snacks and selected drinks are also provided – a perfect end to this eventful day!
