Overview
Day by day you glide together down the Nisutlin River to Teslin Lake, far from roads and settlements. In the evening you camp on the bank and share stories around the campfire, and with luck you see moose, bears or wolves. No paddling experience needed, the guide shows you everything.
Do you want to experience the true Yukon wilderness with your children, completely free from pressure? Then this week-long canoe trip on the Nisutlin River is just what you're looking for. The calm river is free of rapids, making it ideal for paddling novices – yet it still winds through pristine nature, far from roads and settlements. Together you'll glide downstream day after day, pitching your tent on the riverbank in the evening and sitting around the campfire. With a bit of luck, you might spot moose, bears, or even wolves, and those who cast a line might bring back a grayling or a pike for dinner. Finally, you'll paddle across the vast Nisutlin Bay to Teslin. This tour can also be wonderfully combined with a longer trip through Western Canada.

This canoe trip is designed for beginners and families with children aged 7 and up. A basic level of fitness and a love of the outdoors are all you need.
You'll paddle approximately 130 km downstream in leisurely daily stages to Teslin Lake. Your luggage travels in the canoe; you only need to carry it when loading and unloading the boats.
We sleep in tents at secluded riverbank spots without sanitary facilities. Everyone – including the children – happily helps with setting up camp, cooking, and collecting firewood. Openness, team spirit, and a sense of adventure are simply essential.
