Winter sports have been practised in Geilo since 1935 – today you'll find excellent slopes, mountain restaurants, ski schools and ski hire here. The lively centre lies right between the ski areas. You travel by car on the ferry from Kiel and stay self-catering in a cabin or apartment.
As Norway's oldest ski destination, with winter sports dating back to 1935, Geilo has developed into a modern winter sports resort. Here you'll find excellent slopes, mountain restaurants, ski schools, ski rental and lift pass stations to make your ski holiday as pleasant as possible. Geilo's lively centre lies right between the ski centres and offers a unique mix of everyday Norwegian life and holiday atmosphere.

Day 1
Travel to Kiel
Inside cabin on the ferry to Oslo
Individual travel to Kiel. The Color Line ferry departs at 14:00. Enjoy the wide range of facilities on board! Treat yourself in one of the many restaurants and cafés, enjoy the varied entertainment programme or go shopping. All this is possible on the cruise ferries Color Magic and Color Fantasy! Overnight on board.

Inside cabin on the ferry to Oslo
Individual travel to Kiel. The Color Line ferry departs at 14:00. Enjoy the wide range of facilities on board! Treat yourself in one of the many restaurants and cafés, enjoy the varied entertainment programme or go shopping. All this is possible on the cruise ferries Color Magic and Color Fantasy! Overnight on board.
Day 2
Arrival in Oslo – drive to the Geilo ski area

approx. 245 km
In the morning you reach Oslo and continue your journey by car. You pass through the species-rich Hallingdal valley and continue via Flå until you reach your destination for the day, Geilo. Here you check in for the next 7 nights at your cosy accommodation, which, thanks to its location right on the slopes, is ideal for cross-country and downhill skiing.

In the morning you reach Oslo and continue your journey by car. You pass through the species-rich Hallingdal valley and continue via Flå until you reach your destination for the day, Geilo. The ski area consists of 220 km of groomed cross-country trails and 34 km of slopes across 40 runs. The lifts offer a varied mix: on the left side you'll find child-friendly slopes, while the right side, with more challenging runs, will make more active skiers' hearts beat faster. A free ski bus runs several times a day between the two sides of the mountain, so you can explore every corner of the ski area. The surrounding mountain panorama of the Hardangervidda plateau is breathtaking and offers you an impressive piece of nature.

Today you set off back to Oslo in good time. The Color Line ferry leaves the port at 2 pm. You can relax, look back on your winter week and let your holiday wind down on board.

The Geilolia cabin offers 75 m² of space for up to 6 people and impresses with its cosy charm in traditional Norwegian style. This inviting cabin, located right at Geilo ski centre, is the ideal choice for families looking for both relaxation and activity in nature. 3 bedrooms (1 double bed and 4 single beds) 1 bathroom with shower/WC and sauna, equipped kitchen, combined living and dining area, TV, fireplace and terrace or balcony. A ski storage room is also available. Pets allowed on request and for a fee.

The following travel periods are not available for the Havsdalsgrenda apartment with 3 bedrooms and sauna: 10.01.–17.01.27 & 14.02.–21.02.27 Changes to the itinerary are reserved.
